So after last night, and after reading some of your comments, I just wanted to publicly acknowledge that I have the best cat ever. He really is a gift and I am so thankful that I have him, that insane odds came together for
chunkems and
asphaltwanderer and
pitpatpupsf and I to be where we were on New Year's Eve, and that some little tic in my head told me to look up in the doorway where Ness was sneezing blood all over himself.
I am so thankful that we were there to rescue him, that we were there to keep him warm, and that, because of many of you (particularly
bad_mom who deserves soooo much love for her huge donation!!!!!!) I was able to actually adopt him.
He is the most affectionate, playful cat I've ever had, yet he's not too hyper. He loves cuddling, he loves just hanging out either laying on my belly or alongside the keyboard while I am internetting. HE TAKES A SHOWER WITH ME OCCASIONALLY. He is very personable and he loves everyone, despite
alphaomegasf jokingly claiming he's racist (LOL).
Yes he will wage a scorched earth guerilla campaign if i am late coming home from work. Yes he ate my $25 paint brushes. Yes he eats people food if I so much as leave anything on the counter. Yes he yowls and screams as soon as I leave the house or if I am not coming inside quick enough. Yes he needs to poopervise. And yes he tries to rub his teeth on my fingernails to get the plaque off when I am petting him (which is why he has a toothbrush now.)
I really do love this cat. I've had good cats before, like Scooter and Eugene and Ferguson, but Ness is, by and large, the best cat. I kinda wish he was dumber though, because he knows how to open doors, even though he can't do it yet, hahaha.
Anyway, here's a pic of him drying himself off last night after we got out of the shower:
